January 15, 2018, 10:54am. Petty Theft. 18 year old Caucasian male, 62, got the attention of the hardware store staff when he came in with an empty backpack. His stand off-ish attitude attracted additional notice of the Loss Prevention Officer who monitored his shopping on security cameras. It was then that the officer was able to catch the suspect putting spray paint cans into his bag and proceeding to the exit without paying. He was detained prior to leaving and brought into the backroom for questioning. While in custody, the officer was able to discover the suspects criminal record of vandalism and his likelihood of jail with any police action. An understanding was reached by the suspects and the Loss Prevention Officer, and they was released without involvement of law enforcement. $19.98 retail value recovered for the store without incident.
